Students recently participated in a Scotia- Glenville Traveling Museum's "Simple Machine" program. This science program was an introduction to the kinds of simple machines we use and how they effect they work we do.
Students also have been busy constructing closed electrical circuits and testing materials to determine whether they are insulators or conductors.
In math students have been learning how to identify decimals, convert fractions to decimals, as well as how to add and subtract decimals. In recent days we have begun to review concepts that were learned early in the year.
With regard to ELA boys and girls have been reading numerous fiction and non-fiction articles. Work has focused on identifying the elements of a story, recognizing important details, summarizing what they have read as well as writing written responses.
Additionally, students just completed reading The Landry News written by Andrew Clements.
